Psalm 48

In yet another psalm written by the Sons of Korah we see a song that talks about the completion of the establishment of God's kingdom !  It starts in the same way we should all pray and that is with praise. Then it goes into a recalling of God's power and majesty. " For behold, the kings assembled, they passed by together. They saw it, and so they marveled; they were troubled, they hastened away."This refers to the fact that God has established His kingdom in Mt. Zion, and not only the Jews but even the whole world recognized that this was God's dwelling place. It also speaks to the way God is in control of the military victories of the Jews. Verse 11 show that Mt. Zion and all of the cities around are glad because of the judgments of God. "Let Mt. Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of your judgments." This psalm ends with praise and faith in God. " For this is God, Our God forever and ever; He will be our guide, Even to death." Verse 14.  This is also a lesson for us when we pray.  We should praise, ask, then praise AND have faith that God has already answered your prayer. It is not easy but this is the model we have and we can only do this with faith. And this is what a relationship with Jesus is all about !
